The brief: To create an identity for Cheltenham’s new poetry festival that would be taken seriously, without compromising the diverse and artistic nature of the subject.
The outcome: Cheltenham is a festival town. It is host to a variety of annual events which haul in celebrities from across the globe to speak, act, play music, race on horses and now, for the first time as a festival of its own, celebrate poetry. We settled upon a tree, portraying both the Cotswold location of the festival and the idea that many branches (genres/individuals/pieces of writing) form one tree (festival). The ink leaves represent the raw edge to the festival which aims to be inclusive and, at times, spontaneous, inviting members of the public to have a go at writing their own poems.
Dale, Forty & Co Ltd are the oldest name in pianos in Cheltenham. Henry Dale, the company owner, was responsible for the Leckhampton riots in 1902, when he purchased a large proportion of Leckhampton Hill and built a cottage (Tramway Cottage) on a public walkway to block it off. There was a public outcry and the Dale, Forty pianos on loan to the Cheltenham Ladies’ College were removed.
The company name has recently been bought and Dale, Forty pianos are once again in production. Pink Sky were commissioned to create a modern identity that reflected the 1940s logo to be printed onto all of the pianos, which can be viewed and purchased in Cheltenham Piano Centre.
The brief: To do a photoshoot for Rosemary Needham, Cordon Bleu.
The outcome: We created a portfolio of beautiful food shots for Rosemary and particularly enjoyed tasting the subject matter afterwards!
The brief: To carry out a photoshoot that captured the essence and character of Sarita Lavender Glass.
The outcome: Sarita Lavender makes custom glass panels for interiors, exhibition spaces and for the home. In addition to this, she makes a range of beautiful giftware and runs workshops for adults and children.
