What a beautiful start to the new year! We are loving the snow and have braved it into work despite the arctic temperatures and the ‘death slide’ outside our office door! If you are a fan of skiing, the Pink Sky Studios is the place to be. We were amused to watch a 4×4 being towed out of the car park yesterday by a transit van. How embarrassing for it.
Naomi has been itching all week to build some ice sculptures. It is torture for an arty creative type to look out of the window and watch what is, effectively, free paintbrushes and paint falling out of the sky without wanting to run outside and make things!
There is a definite difference between boys and girls when it comes to snow. Girls watch in awe and wonder, hardly daring to touch the beautiful tree that has been covered in snow. Boys run straight up to it and shake the branch to see what it will do. It is the same with snowmen. Girls will “ooh” and “ahhh” and take photos, whilst boys will run up and take a flying kick at the head, just to see what happens. It is always a mystery to me when they subsequently feel sad about having wet shoes. These traits do not seem to alter with age at all…

“Ooooh, aaaaaahhh” says Naomi, wearing 100 layers.

Both boys and girls have to do this….

“I wonder what will happen if I shake this branch?” says Mark.

“Why am I wet?” says Mark

“Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!” says Naomi. (Why do we say “Weeeee”?)
